The residence was designed as a counterpoint to the intense routine of its resident—a young professional in São Paulo’s financial market. Located in Cotia, just a few kilometers from São Paulo, the residence makes the most of its sloping lot to create a surprising effect: from the street, the discreet facade suggests a single-story home. But upon entering, another floor is revealed. While the private areas are on the ground floor, the social areas open onto the garden and pool on the lower level. The facade’s material palette—shades of lead, slatted aluminum, and finishes that evoke concrete—conveys a contemporary, industrial aesthetic, in tune with the urban rhythm to which the resident is connected. In contrast, the landscaping at the rear and the wood-toned front door create a welcoming atmosphere, as if inviting one to slow down.
